Few people have heard of Uttar Pradesh however, it is one of the most visited states in the country, but why? It is the state of the Taj Mahal, India’s most iconic and romantic monument as well as being home to the oldest living city on earth and home of India’s spirituality, Varanasi. Less well known is Lucknow, a beautiful city, with extraordinary monuments including the Bara Imambara and the Residency but it is also famous for its Chikan embroidery work and delicious street food, Lastly, we introduce Chambal, just a 2 hour drive from Agra, this destination has the most extraordinary temples and ghat (think of a smaller version of Varanasi without the crowds) and a rich wildlife which can be explored by a boat safari on the river. You will come back wanting to tell more people about this fascinating region!
