ITINERARY OVERVIEW

Day 1 Arrive in Nepal’s enthralling capital and after checking into your centrally located hotel, embark on an afternoon’s orientation tour of Durbar Square. Navigate through the labyrinth of narrow streets and open areas, observing the myriad of temples and engaging with the characterful locals. Day 2

Spend a spiritual morning at two of Nepal’s most sacred religious sites. Attend the morning prayers at Bouddhnath, one of the largest Buddhist Stupas in the world before continuing to Pasupatinath, a Hindu shrine idyllically located on the banks of the River Baghmati.

The afternoon is also spent in the Kathmandu Valley, in the medieval town of Patan, characterised by its many Pagoda style temples, epitomising Nepal’s spiritual ambience.

On this encompassing day you will also visit a Tibetan Singing Bowl & Healing Centre, a local shop that specialises in sound healing therapy from handmade Tibetan bowls. Finish the day by dining with a local family.

Day 3 Drive to the historic town of Nuwakot and check into the Famous Farmhouse. Nuwakot is an excellent place to gain an understanding of Newari culture in an idyllic landscape. Day 4 A living time capsule, Bandipur is a wonderful hilltop settlement with a Newari flair. Arrive in the late morning and spend the rest of the day exploring the traditional village and the temples of Bindabasini and Khadga Devi. Bandipur The Old Inn
Day 5 Continue to Pokhara, Nepal’s second largest city with an unfathomable beauty fringed by the majestic Himalayas. You should arrive here by midday meaning the rest of the day is free to marvel in the scenic views and stroll along the quaint lakeside. Pokhara Temple Tree Resort & Spa
Day 6 Begin the day with a drive to the summit of the World Peace Stupa, take in the splendid views before descending on foot. Visit Tibetan settlements amongst the forested terrain and meet friendly villagers along the way. Your downhill hike will bring you to the shore of the gorgeous Lake Phewa where you can board a boat for a gently ride on the calm waters. Pokhara Temple Tree Resort & Spa
Day 7 Another gentle hike waits today through the chestnut and rhododendron forests of the valley. Begin in Milan Chowk (reached by a 25-minute drive) before making your way to Astam, promising uncompromising views enroute. The hike will give a great insight into rural life in Nepal as you pass through many villages and hamlets. Days 8 – 10 Travel to the Chitwan National Park, a remarkable ecosystem situated in the subtropical inner Terai lowlands in central Nepal. More than 43 species of mammals can be found in the park although many visitors come to see the endangered one-horned Rhinoceros and Tigers in their native habitat. Whilst the first day is largely spent travelling and meeting your expert naturalists, two full days are left for immersive jungle experiences. Take 4×4 safaris for close wildlife encounters and embark on boat safaris to spot water dwelling species. Day 11 In the direction back to Kathmandu, spend the day and night in the small village of Kurintar, located  on the sandy banks of the Trisuli river. A peaceful retreat, a gentle walking tour of the surrounding area will unveil its beauty and the engagement of the friendly locals. Days 12 – 13 Your final stop exploring the wonders of Nepal is Bhaktapur where you will spend your final two nights. Attend the morning puja, a deeply spiritual ritual and explore the sprawling complex of the Durbar Square. The Kings of the Malla dynasty lived in Bhaktapur until 1769 and have left some of the finest examples of architecture that can be found in Nepal. Visit the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate, and the entrance to the Palace of 55 Windows, known as the most significant piece of art in Nepal. Day 14 This morning head straight to Kathmandu Airport for your return flight home.
