Parisons Plantation Experiences, Wayanad, Kerala
About
When a property weaves a story: Parisons Resort and Plantation dates back almost two hundred years and has a rich heritage and is a story of perseverance and development.
The estates came about with the introduction of tea into India 1830, making it down to this region in 1892, where it was planted, amongst others, around Cherakara and Talapoya Estates which originally belonged to the British and Continental Tea Plantation Trust. Later these were taken over by Co-operative Wholesale Society Limited of Manchester and the Scottish Co-operative Wholesale Society Limited of Glasgow. They were ultimately purchased by Parison’s Estates and Industries in December 2004. They now have over 4025 acres of tea gardens producing selected varieties of hybrid China and Assam teas.
Cherakara and Talapoya are the original old and spacious bungalows dating back to 1911. Both the bungalows are magnificently located at the crest of the hills, offering the visitor a remarkable view of the surrounding countryside. They have been refurbished in order to keep the original character but also to add modern comforts and amenities. The incredibly spacious and comfortable rooms are the perfect place to capture a good night’s sleep at the end of a day exploring this charming region and of course, tasting tea!""
