Kings Lodge, Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh
About
Just a short drive from Bandhavgarh National Park, Kings Lodge's 18 cottages are spread across 12 acres of verdant sal forest. Choose between eight cottages and ten stilted cottages, of which the latter includes lofty wooden balconies. Both are decorated in a rustic style, with exposed walls decorated with local artwork, tree-trunk beams, plus locally sourced textiles and furnishings. Each of the cottages has its own outdoor seating area. The main lounge is a beautiful, with an open fire, vaulted wooden ceilings, and a sunken seating area. There is also a library and an inviting pool, perfect for an afternoon spent relaxing when you're not on a safari in search of wildlife. As well as their eco credentials and sustainability efforts, King's Lodge aims to have a positive impact on the local community. Employing local villagers, many go on to become naturalists. With a wealth of knowledge in wildlife and conservation, they are perfect for going on a ramble of the surrounding forests.
