Surrounded by luscious sal forest, as the name would suggest Earth Lodge is a stay amidst nature. Spread across sixteen acres of reclaimed wilderness (not one tree was removed in its completion) and comprised of twelve Gond style cottages it is the definition of eco-lux. The cottages are environmentally sensitive utilizing local stone and woods, giving them a rustic feel. Local artworks adorn the walls, and each includes little sitting nooks, bathtubs, and private terraces from which to relax with a good book. Located a thirty-minute drive from Kanha National Park's Khatia/Kisli Gate, it means you are away from the main tourist thoroughfare, however it is an extra drive to add onto the already long safaris. Its more isolated location, means it is perfect for birders, and those wanting to go on walks and cycles through the forests. Or relax by the pool with just the sound of the jungle in your ears. Evenings under the stars, sat around the campfire are a memorable experience, as are communal dinners on the long dining table, where traditional Indian flavours are served.
