Devra is a small, cosy hotel situated within a five-acre estate which includes an qncient temple with a fascinating story behind it!  This family home stands on a small hill, part of the Aravali range, and overlooks the surrounding countryside and offers distant views of Udaipur's City Palace, Lake Palace and Lake Pichola. This is a charming location which provides peace and tranquillity but it is in fact  just 15 minutes from the city of Udaipur. Hand-crafted furniture, a homely atmosphere, open terraces, a show kitchen and delicious food are the highpoints of a stay here and once visits to the main sights have been completed this is the perfect base from which to explore the outskirts of Udaipur like a local.  The surrounding area is perfect for long, leisurely walks, and the wide variety of birdlife makes the area a haven for bird watching enthusiasts.  Jyoti and Major Das are your hosts and are a font of knowledge on this city, the surrounding villages and the nature of the region. Jyoti is also an excellent cook and culinary demonstrations can be arranged in the purpose built kitchen which is decorated with Jyoti’s own dowry collection. A stay here gives an insight into life on the edge of one of Rajasthan’s most famous city’s.
