Located right on Shimla's famous Mall Road, Clarke's hotel dates back to 1898 has been awarded heritage status, as one of the oldest properties in town. Formerly known as Cecil Hotel, the property was handed over to the then general manager following the Clarke family's return to England. That general manager was a Mr Mohan Singh Oberoi, who would go on to set up one of India's most successful hotel chains. It is fair to say that Clarke's Hotel is steeped in history. With 32 rooms and several dining options, it accommodates for every modern traveller's needs. Spacious rooms are decorated in neutral palettes, though in-room fireplaces add a touch of history.
