Horseriding
India may not be the first destination that people consider for horse riding, it is however, fabulous. The Marwari horse is a breed indigenous to the country and they are known for being nimble, intelligent for being faithful to their rider as well as their very distinctive ears! For any horse riders out there, a horse safari in Rajasthan is an unforgettable experience, riding through beautiful countryside, remote villages, riding past the local wildlife, black buck, blue bulls and chinkara as well as seeing some extraordinary birdlife. It is a wonderful way to see the country at ground level and as horses are revered ensuring a warm reception wherever you go. Horse safaris are possible from as little as a couple of hours to full day ride with a Royal picnic lunch or multi-day safaris exploring the region and staying in charming little off- beat forts and palaces. We particularly recommend Rohetgarh, Bijaipur and Udaipur in Rajasthan to try out a half day horse safari, and for experiences riders Gujarat offers some excellent terrain for multi day rides.
